I enjoyed my morning so much the other day that, when my eyes popped open at 5:30 this morning, I decided to get up and do it again. When the boys were little I used to get up early on the weekends, make some coffee and read the paper before they even thought of stirring. I loved the peace and quiet of those morning and can’t believe that somehow I let those days escape.
Actually I do know how that happened… I was saying “Yes” to things that I thought were important at the time, and inadvertently saying “No” to the thing that is always important: Me.
I realize that there are only so many hours in a day and taking “Me” time is crucial to my well-being. I know that, have always known that, but I’m not always good about making “Me” a priority especially when there are so many things tugging me in all directions.
This morning I took a little “Me” time by getting up early, making coffee and bringing it to my sewing room to sit, sip and be still.
I highly recommend starting all your mornings like this.
